The Maha Gedera is a grand and elegant structure from both inside and out. The largest of all our huts, the Maha Gedera has a square shaped footprint and a large internal courtyard. The hut is furnished with 3 large double beds, 3 large single beds, a dining table and a lounge area.
The term Maha Gedera roughly translates as Head Quarters but in practice refers to the name of the family home – usually the ancestral home of a family.
The semi-outdoor bathroom is the largest at the Mudhouse, with a large tree shower, traditional ‘bucket shower’ and western toilet. We recently also added an en-suite bathroom for extra convenience. Behind the hut there is an additional jungle shower.
The Maha Gedera is suitable for for couples, families and small groups and, despite its size, has a very intimate atmosphere inside.
