Hatton is a town in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is located in the Nuwara Eliya District, about 41 kilometers (25 miles) east of the city of Nuwara Eliya. Hatton is known for its beautiful landscapes and tea plantations, and it is a popular destination for tourists and hikers. The town is situated at an altitude of 1,362 meters (4,471 feet) above sea level, and the climate is cool and misty throughout the year.
Hatton has a long history, and it was an important center of trade and commerce during the British colonial period. The town is named after James Hatton, who was a British civil servant and the first British Collector of Nuwara Eliya.
