Weligama

Weligama is a relaxed coastal town on Sri Lanka’s south coast, located between Galle and Mirissa along a wide, sandy bay. It is especially famous for its beginner-friendly surfing conditions, with gentle waves making it one of the best places in the country to learn surfing. The town’s name, meaning “Sandy Village,” reflects its long crescent-shaped beach lined with fishing boats and palm trees.
